VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

As spring is approaching and the furharvest season is now behind us, hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable time, and got their furs marketed. Had a good turn out at the Feb. 19 auction in Abilene. Thanks to the buyers for your attendance and making the furs worth what they were. Most all were pleased with the results.

Again, thanks to all the buyers, too all who helped set up, the ones who worked the tables, and the clean up crew, all was very much appreciated.

With all the storms and severe weather already taking place over the nation in February, it makes a person wonder what is in store for us, but hope all has a safe and enjoyable spring. If possible get out and go camping and fishing and take a youth on an outing with you.

As am a member of District 3, I will list part of our upcoming activities for the year. Our annual campout and work weekend for Jewell State Fishing Lake will be June 11-12. Will be attending the Hays Youth Fair on Aug. 20. The big event for our district is the 6th Annual Outdoor Youth Fair in Osborne on Sept. 10. Any and all that want to help or just come and check out the activities are welcome. If you can help, give Cleo (785) 346-4541 or myself Roger (785) 346-2076 a call, and am sure we can find something for you to do.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for October 7-8-9 for our State Rendezvous to be held in Osborne.

Will also be having our Annual Furharvester Education class in Portis on Oct. 15 and our Annual Advanced Furharvesters Education class in Portis on Nov. 19 and 20. If anyone wants to help, or more information on any of the listed activities, call either Cleo or myself at the numbers listed above. Am sure will have more classes and activities to mention later.

Have a safe and enjoyable spring and take a youth on an outdoor activity.

— Roger D. Macy
